December 6, 2018

Dear Family,
Please send in field trip permission slips and $7 payment by this Friday.  Thank you!

Next Week...
Math: Students will practice telling time to the half hour. They will be able to identify and explain the minute hand and hour hand. Students will be able to show time to the half hour on both a digital clock and analog clock.

Science: Students will learn about and record weather information, including weather temperature, such as hot or cold, clear or cloudy, calm or windy, and rainy or icy.  Students will also discover that air is all around us and that wind is moving air by constructing and observing windsocks and/or pinwheels.

Reading: This week students will be learning about the elements of folktales  through a well known author, Jan Brett. We will end the week with a “Holidays Around the World” rotation to learn about 5 different holidays from other countries.

Writing:  We will continue to work on our fairy tale writing and focus on editing a final piece for publishing.

Balanced Literacy: Students will be finalizing their Aesop’s Fable play and presenting it to their partner class. We will also be doing some fun winter activities!
