Meet the Teacher

Hello, my name is Jaclyn Ashby and I am excited to be your child's first grade teacher this year. This is my tenth year teaching in Round Rock ISD and my ninth year teaching first grade. I graduated in December 2007 from Texas State University-San Marcos with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  I completed my student teaching at Caldwell Heights Elementary in Round Rock and have been here ever since.  It has truly been wonderful working in such an amazing school district like Round Rock ISD. 

A little more about me...
I am the youngest of three children.  I was born in San Antonio, but grew up in Austin.  I would have to consider myself a true Austinite.  I competed in sports all through school.  I was on the Girls Varsity Wrestling team for three years in high school and went to the State Championships my senior year.  It was a wonderful experience.  In January 2011, I married my best friend Daniel.  We currently live in Round Rock with our son Ethan and our dog named Ghostbuster. During our spare time we enjoy going out and being active with our dog.  We also enjoy spending time with our friends and family, especially our four nieces and five nephews.  Needless to say we have a big family.  Now that's a little about myself and my family...I really look forward to getting to know each and every one of you throughout this upcoming school year.
