February 7, 2019

Dear Family,
We did not have library this week due to the book fair.  You may send your child with $ to make a purchase or you may take them after school to shop the book fair.

Next week...
Math:  Students will explore 2-digit numbers in a variety of contexts. We will refresh on place value (tens/ones), grouping ten strategy, and introduce expanded and standard form.

Science: Students will continue to sort and classify living and nonliving things based upon whether they have basic needs and produce offspring.

Reading: This week we will be working on the following reading skills: ABC order, dictionary skills, compound words and literary comments.

Writing: Students will be creating a circular story using the works of Laura Numeroff as their inspiration and using the research they did last week.

Balanced Literacy:In Phonics, we will practice blended onsets with rhymes and hearing and saying four or more sounds in a word. In Social Studies, we will be learning about the difference between needs and wants.
